So... over the past few years I've repeatedly been asked to do an eye tutorial, and tonight I decided to put one together during a break from commissions n_n
I really don't have any special method for painting, usually I only use one layer for the coloring, (though the highlight always goes above the lineart X3) But hopefully this step-by-step will help you out or at the very least give you a bit of insight into how I color eyes.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask them in a comment-- I'll be glad to help you out.
This was done in Photoshop with one of the default brushes, but you can pretty much accomplish it in any program.
awww this is super duper helpful ^^ i bet a lot of people are going to thank you super much for this. I learned a bit from this I know Thanks girl! <3!

HUGE PICTURE IS HUGE. Wow Jen! Every time I come back to DA you have new pretty stuff to look at. ;__; Sorry for missing the little part about the kitty...but I don't have monies anyway lol.
I LOVE YOUR EYES...but I really really really like your sketch of them the best. ;___; Your colors are fabulous but the raw lines are simply delicious! ...btw...lol. When I first full viewed this..I only got the upper corner of the tutorial on my screen...I had to refresh at least 3 times to realize that it's just that big. Haha! Silly me! But I appreciate the large size for all the details. Thanks for sharing! *runs off with skillz*
lmao ;a; thank you bebeh <333!! yeah-- I was debating whether I should resize it further, but... I figured it made more sense to give people all the details X3! Annnd as far as the lips go... hokay ;A; I'll try!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
